My name is Taslim Gandhi.

I am from India and came to New Zealand in 2017. I am living in Auckland with my husband and daughter Zainab. I have pursued an Early Childhood Education Post Graduate Diploma from New Zealand Tertiary college in 2018. Since then, I have gained experience working in different early childhood centres across Auckland. Also, I have done Bachelors of Science, Masters of Science and Bachelors of Education from India. I have gained experience working in both primary and secondary sectors from India. While I am an early childhood educator, I always thought of moving towards primary school teaching. So, I decided to pursue a Graduate diploma in primary teaching. I am well organised with paperwork and have good classroom management skills which are my strengths as a teacher. I am always keen to learn new things, observe and implement in my teaching practices. My teaching philosophy is based on ‘Ako’ which means a teaching and learning process where I can learn from children, fellow teachers and mentors. I believe that every child is unique and has got the potentional to excel in his/her learning. My teaching practice also emphasizes diversity, culture and traditions, parent-teacher interactions, communication and developing positive relationships with the families, whanau and children. I am looking forward to this course to share my experiences, knowledge and working alongside peers and teachers.

Ngā mihi nui,

 Taslim
